Compassionate, evidence-based CBT tailored to you.
Calm Breathing Therapies is led by Shavaiz Khan, a fully trained cognitive behavioural therapist accredited by the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). He holds a Master of Science in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and has completed more than 400 hours of supervised clinical practice.
Shavaiz has extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients presenting with anxiety disorders, panic attacks, low mood and depression, post‑traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive‑compulsive disorder (OCD) and health anxiety. He has a special interest in helping individuals reclaim their confidence and resilience through structured, evidence‑based CBT interventions.
Our therapeutic style is collaborative and compassionate. We believe the best results come from working together to understand the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that keep you stuck. Therapy is personalised to your unique goals and draws on the Roth & Pilling CBT competency framework, NICE guidelines and the latest psychological research.
We are deeply committed to our values of compassion, respect, empowerment and integrity. You will be treated with empathy and without judgement. We will help you to develop skills and insights that promote independence and self‑efficacy, while maintaining the highest ethical standards and confidentiality.
Ongoing professional development is an integral part of our practice. Shavaiz engages in regular clinical supervision, reflective practice and continuing education to ensure that his skills remain current and effective. This dedication to learning helps us provide therapy that is both compassionate and proven to work.
